First General Baptist Church Donates Building & Property to Ozarks Summit

Throughout the Old Testament, we see the Israelites pause in significant moments to remember what God had done. After crossing the Jordan River, they set up twelve stones as a memorial—a physical reminder of God’s faithfulness so future generations would not forget (Joshua 4).

This is one of those moments for us.

Effective April 1, 2026, First General Baptist Church will be transferring ownership and generously donating their building and property to Ozarks Summit, marking a major milestone in the life of our ministry. Like those memorial stones, this gift stands as a reminder of God’s provision, His timing, and His faithfulness to a vision bigger than any one person or organization.

Since 1966, First General Baptist Church has been a place of worship, prayer, and community. That legacy will continue, as the congregation will still gather in the building for Sunday morning and evening services. Now under the stewardship of Ozarks Summit, this space will also extend its impact far beyond Sundays—serving families, youth, and neighbors throughout the week.

At Ozarks Summit, we believe ministry moves at the speed of relationships. This building is not just a place to host programs—it’s a place to build community, walk alongside people, and create meaningful connections. Our programs are designed as an open invitation for the Church to step outside its four walls, serve the community, and come alongside neighbors in real, tangible ways.

Located at 409 Joe Jones Blvd, this property will become the central hub for that mission. From youth mentoring and family support programs to community events and partnerships with local churches, schools, and organizations, this space will be filled with life, connection, and purpose.

Renovations will begin this spring, enhancing both the interior and exterior to better support growing programs and outreach efforts.

More than anything, this building now represents a marker in the journey—a moment where we can look back and say: God was here. He made a way.

And as we move forward as one united movement of compassion, we do so remembering this milestone—and believing for all God has in store ahead. - All Glory to Him, Jared
